Antigua + Barbuda
Sobriyah's
winter charter base in the Caribbean. With regular direct flights from Europe and the USA. The sailing around these islands
can be exhilarating, between stops at remote cays, and visiting some of the most exquisite beaches anywhere in the world,
some only accessible by yacht. Start your charter in the old-worldly charm of Nelsons Historic Dockyard, and see all the razzmatazz
of Falmouth, winter home to some of the worlds grandest floating palaces; hosts of Antigua Sailing Week; Antigua Classic Regatta;
The Superyacht Cup; and now the RORC Caribbean 600.
Low
lying, quiet and exclusive Barbuda, just a short sail to the north could not be
more of a contrast. The most laid back of all islands and definitely a contender for having the best beach in the world. Eleven
miles of sugar soft pink sand, only accessible by yacht, with barely another soul to be seen. The most convenient place to
break the journey north to chic St Barth's, winter playground of the St Tropez
set, and savvy St Martin; or west to St Kitts and Nevis, returning to Antigua via
volcanic Montserrat.
Alternatively you may wish to visit the French West Indies on your charter; Guadeloupe; Marie Galante; and the Isles de Les Saintes, full of Gallic charm, and all no more than a few hours gentle sailing from
Antigua.
The Grenadines
The 30 islands and cays that make up The Grenadines are among the best kept secrets
in the Caribbean, and are our summer base. Only a few are inhabited and even these are sparsely populated, and barely developed.
They reach like stepping stones between St Vincent and Grenada. While the islands share geological ancestry, they are geographically
diverse; some dramatic verdant peaks towering over sheltered and secluded coves; others flawless strips of soft white sand
with just a few palm trees. Pristine coral reefs and crystal clear turquoise sea; ideal for snorkeling; scuba diving; or exploring
further by kayak, or in our tender. Some of the islands are of world renown: Mustique;
second home to the rich and famous. Others are barely known: Bequia; Mayreau; Union; Petit
St Vincent; and not forgetting the magical Tobago Cays; four uninhabited
islands, sheltered by a horseshoe reef, always the high point of any trip.
As there are no direct international flights to The Grenadines; connections must
be made in Barbados, St Lucia, or Grenada. We can commence charters in any of the Grenadine Islands, or alternatively can
offer one-way charters, sailing from St Lucia or Grenada, and visiting all the Grenadine Islands in between.
The Windward and Leeward Islands
At certain times of year, we can offer charters and bluewater sailing trips to some of the more distant islands;
from Anguilla, in the north down to Grenada,
depending on our schedule. These would normally be one-way sailing charters.
At other times we may be able to offer you a cruise south from Antigua sailing down to the majestic
Pitons of St Lucia, and stopping in Guadeloupe,
Les Saintes, Dominica, and Martinique on the way. If you have more time we can take you all the way south to Grenada,visiting
all the islands in between, including the Grenadines.
Please enquire for availability. On Sobriyah you will be assured
of more fun and less formality.
